You’ve Got the Look

I’m intrigued by how often corona changes its looks. From a bouncy white ball with fine red tentacles, to an angry red and black…and around Christmas it may adorn a festive red and green. What do you really look like corona and why do you come in so many colors?

Look at the one above…a red grainy ball of martian surface with multi hued floral growth, floating in the intergalactic universe. In this image the invisible macrocosm merges with the equally invisible microcosmic virus.

Is there a scientific reason for its diverse colors or are we free to tweak its looks to suit the occasion? If so, how do we know how far we can deviate from the scientific ‘truth’?
